you are
very large in my heart
like a great ship
in a canal
passing from ocean to ocean
or sea to sea
i am filled by your
presence
no other commerce takes place
as i gently pull upon
your broided-hair ropes
walking you through
water overflows my
banks
as your breadth
presses against my sides
my deepest parts are probed
sediment is stirred
as you reach my end
i think to become a sailor
a passenger, an anchor
anything to keep you from leaving
yet you sail away |
