(still) by the sea
(poems for tricia #8)

watching you
i am warmed
by the glow of graceful beauty
perceptible only to me
blazing like an invisible sun
emanating from you alone

as you bend to lift your son
i see the familiar lithe figure
in one-piece black suit
the fabric clinging like a second skin
wrapped tightly as i dream to hold you

the back is scooped in a deep smile
the cheeks of your buttocks:
parentheses around the perfect sentence

your breasts press outward
stretching for more sun
like rosebuds in late spring

the nodes of your spine in perfect arrangement
piano keys yearning to be played
notes of God's greatest symphony:
the celebration of love and life
waiting, teasing
begging to be played
again and again
