| In 1988 I spent some time on a business trip down in El Paso, Texas and Juarez, Mexico. Talk about extremes - look in one direction and see a relatively prosperous city. Look in the other direction and see dire poverty, disease, starvation, child prostitution - you name it. It was rather unnerving. Then to pick up the newspaper and read more headlines about atrocities... When I turned the page and saw a full page ad for folks trying to start up a church bowling league, this song came into being. | ||
